PlayHQ Transition

Cricket Australia have changed the digital platform for Cricket in Australia and is in the process of tranistioning from MyCricket to PlayHQ. All of NSW will operate on PlayHQ during this coming season and this means a different registration system. There are important steps to ensure that your child's statistics transition across from MyCricket to PlayHQ.

Important things to note:

> It is recommended that you use a Microsoft Edge or Safari browser when registering through PlayHQ, this will ensure you do not encounter any issues when trying to link your Cricket ID (detailed in Step 10). If you use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome you may encounter some intermittent errors.

> If registering a Child, please remember to create your PlayHQ account first. When registering a child, please make sure you link your Cricket ID to their PlayHQ account. Children do not need a Cricket ID.

How to Register:

1.  Create & Verify PlayHQ account.

2.  Login

3.  Registering yourself or dependent?

Our philosophy

The Club's philosophy has been to focus on developing the children's cricket skills and love for this challenging game making sure everyone gets a fair go and can really enjoy their cricket no matter what level you are.

  • Perfect for boys & girls aged 9-16 years.
  • For kids with basic cricket skills.
  • Allows kids to transition based on ability to the adult game.
  • Some equipment provided.
  • Most games played between 8.00 – 11.30am on Saturday mornings on a home and away basis.
  • Youth Competition played between 4.30 - 7.00pm on Friday evenings.
  • 2022/23 Season expected to commence in October 2022 and conclude in March 2023.
  • There is usually a break of around 4 weeks over Christmas.

Game Formats

  • Under 10’s play Stage 1 format – 7 players per team, 16m pitch, 20 overs per team one day games, non-comp.
  • Under 12’s play Stage 2 format – 9 players per team, 18m pitch, 30 overs per team one day games, competition.
  • Under 14's and 16's play Stage 3 format – 11 players per team, 20m pitch, 30 overs per team one day games, competition.
  • Youth Competition – 11 players per team, 20m pitch, mixture of 40 over two day games and T20 matches, competition.
  • Note that most under 12 and under 14 competitions are graded. As such our teams are also graded with players selected based on ability. This particularly applies to "A" competitions. We have a little more flexibility with "B" and "C" competitions and aim to keep friends together where possible. As a club, we believe it is important that children play in the most appropriate competition for their ability. We want to see kids enjoying their cricket and the game is a whole lot more enjoyable when players do well. The under 16 competition hasn't been graded the past two seasons but if the CCCA has sufficient numbers for two competitions we place our teams into the appropriate grade.
  • Note that the Central Coast Cricket Association ultimately decides what format different divisions play. For example, if there are sufficient teams in the under 12's to form a "C" competition the CCCA may decide to adopt stage one rules for that competition if it feels that it is appropriate.

Grading

Following on line registration, our grading days will commence.

There will be two grading days for each age group at the Kincumber Indoor Centre. Grading days will again be run by a selection committee comprising of players and officials from our senior club, with input from junior coaches. There will be one selection trial for boys youth league.

Junior Grading / Selection Trials

Our sponsors Kincumber Indoor Sport have once again graciously provided their facilities for our grading and trials. Times below are confirmed other than youth league which is presently tentative.

We will grade an under 11A team that will play in the under 12A's.
